Privacy Policy
This policy explains what information Bailog collects, why, where it is kept,
and the choices you have. Bailog is a personal dance training log, operated by Bailog
(ABN 81 551 577 940) from New South Wales, Australia.
1. What Bailog collects
- Your account details. You sign in with an email address and a
password, or with Google. Bailog keeps your email address, and with Google it also
receives your name and profile picture. Bailog can’t see your password.
- What you put into Bailog. When you log a session you may enter: a
session name, date, dance style, session type, class or project, focus, level, location,
the names of people you danced with, skills, a song, notes, and a tag on each video.
- Your videos. Bailog saves a smaller version of each video you
add.
- Music files. If you add a music file to a session, Bailog keeps a
copy of it on your device only. It is never uploaded.
- Crash reports. If Bailog crashes, a short technical report is sent
so the problem can be fixed. It contains the device model, its system version, the app
version, what the app was doing, and your account ID. It never contains your videos,
session notes or names.
- Usage statistics, only if you turn them on. See section 5.
Bailog doesn’t collect your contacts, your precise location, or anything else on your
device. It only uses the videos you choose. Preferences and drafts of unsaved sessions stay
on your device.
2. How Bailog collects it
- From you, when you create an account and add sessions and
videos.
- From Google, if you choose to sign in with Google.
- From your device, automatically, when the app crashes, and for usage
statistics if you have turned them on.
3. Why Bailog collects it
Bailog uses your information to:
- keep your sessions and videos, and bring them to your devices when you sign in;
- confirm your email address, reset your password when you ask, and tell you if
something important about Bailog changes;
- find and fix faults;
- understand how Bailog is used, if you have turned usage statistics on; and
- apply the Terms of Use and meet legal obligations.
What Bailog does not do:
- No advertising and no advertising identifiers
- No selling of your information
- No tracking of your private content. Your notes, session names,
locations, the people you name and everything in your videos stay private to you
4. Your sessions and videos are private
- What you put into Bailog is linked to your account and visible only to
you. Bailog has no social features: no other user can see your sessions, and
nothing is public. If you type another person’s name (a teacher or a dance partner, for
example), only you can see it.
- Your original recording in your gallery is never changed or
deleted. The smaller version is kept on your device and in Bailog
Cloud, Bailog’s private online storage, so your videos can reach a new device
when you sign in there.
- Only your account can reach your videos. There are no public links and no
sharing.
- Bailog doesn’t watch your videos, share them, or use them for anything except
keeping them for you. A video is looked at only if it is reported, if the law requires
it, or if there is a clear sign an account is being misused.
- Saving to your own Google Drive is optional. If you choose it,
Bailog copies your videos to a folder there, and can see only the files it put in that
folder.
5. Usage statistics: off unless you turn them on
Bailog collects anonymous usage statistics only if you switch on "Share
anonymous usage statistics" in the Account tab. It starts switched off, and you
can turn it off again at any time.
If you turn it on, Bailog collects how sessions are made up (session type, level, and
the style, focus and skill names used, including ones you type
yourself), counts such as how many videos a session has, which filters get used,
and an approximate, city-level location. These statistics never contain session names,
notes, locations you type, people’s names, or anything about your videos, and are never
linked to you.
6. Who Bailog shares it with
- Service providers that run parts of Bailog: sign-in, storage of
your sessions and videos, crash reports and usage statistics. They may use your
information only to provide that service to Bailog.
- Authorities, where the law requires it, including to report
illegal content.
Bailog gives your information to no one else.
7. Where it is kept
Bailog’s service providers store and process information in Australia and overseas:
- Videos: in the Oceania region.
- Sessions and settings: in Australia.
- Sign-in details, crash reports and usage statistics: in the United
States.
8. How it is kept secure
- Everything travels over encrypted connections, and is stored encrypted.
- Each account can reach only its own sessions and videos.
- No system is perfectly secure. If a breach is likely to cause you serious harm,
Bailog will tell you promptly.
9. How long it is kept
- Sessions and videos: until you delete them. Deleting a session
moves it to Recently Deleted for 30 days, and you can restore it in that time. When you
choose “Delete permanently”, the session and its videos are removed straight away. After
30 days, its videos are removed from Bailog Cloud within a day, and the session and the
copies on your device the next time you open Bailog.
- Your account: until you delete it.
- Crash reports: 90 days.
10. Seeing, correcting and deleting your information
- See and correct: your sessions are in the app, where you can change
them at any time. To ask for a copy of your information, or to have something corrected
that you can’t change yourself, email
hello@bailog.app.
- Delete your whole account: Account tab → "Delete my account &
data" permanently removes your sessions, your settings, your sign-in, and your videos in
Bailog Cloud and on the device. Copies in your Google Drive aren’t deleted. You can also
ask by email.
- Uninstalling the app removes everything stored on that device. Your
account and your videos in Bailog Cloud stay until you delete the account.
11. Children
Bailog is for people aged 16 and over, and does not knowingly collect information from
anyone younger.
12. Complaints
If you think Bailog has mishandled your information, email
hello@bailog.app. Bailog will reply within 30
days. If you aren’t satisfied with the reply, you can contact the Office of the Australian
Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.
13. Changes to this policy
If the way Bailog handles information changes, this policy is updated and its date
revised. If a change matters, Bailog also tells you in the app or by email.
